I'm trying really hard to get over my ignorance regarding these trucks! Once again, here's another chance for you guys to help.

Tony, you say that the Chevies had trailing arms and coils while the GMCs had leafs.

So I found out what a leaf was:

Not sure about the trailing arm and coil. Is it what's pictured here running along either side of the drive shaft:

If the GMCs don't have these arms, they would have more room for an S10-style long skinny gas tank beside the drive shaft. Right?

Am I right that the GMCs don't have these arms, or am I still confused?
