I have had good luck grinding shallow notches on the pedal lock bar where it meets the pedal lock { space them about 1/2 " apart }. This creates a " catch " if it does slip ,it catches on the notches. It sometimes helps to sharpen the contact surface on the lock bar { kinda like sharpenong a knife } they seem to wear down over time & dont bite as well.
