my 216 runs at 180 on the road here in N centeral texas when the days don't exced 95,if it gets to 100 the temp may go to as much as 220 while ideling. I have a 180 degree thermo in it and it runs fine,how ever I think that my guage may read obout 10 degree high and I need to adjust it.
