If it's the original engine, it will have solid lifters. You cannot install hydraulics in this block, the hydraulic lifter block has a different oiling system. The correct clearance spec for this engine is intake .006", exhaust .016", both set hot. Don't worry too much about the lifters once you set them, Chevies are supposed to be noisy.
