For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 13 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 13 | Have a 50 GMC 100, finally made the connection between the late model rear end emergency brake cables with the rest of the system. Now it's onto the stock e-brake pedal and release mechanism. The problem is it just wants to "release" all the time. When the pedal is applied it is supposed to be set using the friction of the e-brake pedal rod and a metal plate that it runs through. You "AD" truck owners know what I'm talking about. So I was thinking I could probably bend the end of the metal "brake release" plate to create a sharper angle and hopefully more friction. Was wondering what others have done. Nice to have a working e-brake with a manual trans truck.
Thanks
Alex
