I was reading the
Blue dot taillight thread and was going to revive it, but decided my question probably warranted a new thread.
My '46 came with 2 different tail lights. The driver side is the traditional tail light with the blue dot. It appears to have the taillight bulb changeover bracket (
Jim Carter #: LG 290) as it has the 2 smaller incandescent bulbs. The passenger side is a circular Do-ray "STOP" light with one larger (~2" long) bulb (I think it is an
1129).
After reading the blue dot thread I was concerned and decided to give the LED lights a try in the driver's side tail light. I have the 6V system and so was thinking of trying
these LED lights posted by Bill in the aforementioned thread, or something similar. Does anyone have any experience with LEDs in these taillights?
The bulb in the passenger side circular Do-ray is blown, so I will track down a cheap incandescent before deciding if I'm going to try an LED there as well.
