I dismantled (partially) the speedometer on my 1939 Chevy truck to replace the needle that had fallen off. The face has quite a bit of rust, but I can still read the numbers pretty well. I'd like to clean the rust off if possible, does anyone have any ideas? And, is there a way to test it before putting it back in the dash? My thought was to hook the cable back to it and use the drill to see if the number turn.
