Hi all,

I just bought I new repop tailgate. it came in bare metal, I was kind of expecting primer at least.

anyway, here is my question.

I have two areas of concern. the areas where the sheed metal is spot welded together and the area where the sheet metal is rolled to form the top and bottom sections.

1. do you need to worry about getting paint into these areas?
2. how do you do that?

I'm worried about painting the tailgate, and having the area where it's spot welded rusting a bit and running onto paint?

i'm not worried about it rusting out, since it will be kept as a classic, and won't see much driving or rain (unless I get stuck in it)

Am I worrying too much? or is there a simple solution to this problem.

thanks all
