| | | | Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 22 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 22 | Not sure if you got your brake back together yet...but I just finished reinstalling mine two days ago on my '64 C20. I have the '63 manual with the complete directions if you need them.
From memory:
1) The positioning (centering) bolt on the case should be turned until it allows .01-.015 clearance from the pad to drum.
2) Then the smaller bolt should be turned up so it allows .30 clearance from the bottom pad to bottom of drum...with a .10 shim diametrically positioned.
3) Finally the big "J" bolt turned until .30 clearance from top of pad to top of drum...with a .10 shim diametrically positioned.
