Here's how I did it but I think I still have a problem. I had the flasher connected to the brake switch, which worked the signals. I found the brake wire from the turnsignal switch (7 wire) and when that connected to brake switch the brakes worked but not the signals. So, I spliced the brake wire to the signal wire and connected it to the brake switch. Now both brake lights and signals work, but the truck doesn't start and the battery wears down quickly as if something is sapping power to the starter. The brake switch is connected to a fused relay that goes to the battery and the turnsignal switch is also connected to the relay. I am sure my ignition terminals are hooked up right and the battery hadn't been connected prior to trying to start it so I know I didn't leave anything on.

Any ideas about what is happening would be greatly appreciated.
