FIRST thing Check motor current draw
You are more than likely overloading motor

Possible causes
1. Driving compressor too fast. Contact IR for max compressor RPM. Reduce motor sheave dia to get in right RPM
2. No oil in compressor??
3. Blockage in piping?
4. Undersized motor
5 230 motor on a 120 line??
It is also possible you are starting against pressure. Unload compressor before restart.
