Well I was at a local swap meet, and found a Zenith carb in fairly good rebuildable condition for $10. It was cheap enough, so I picked it up in the hopes it would be correct for my '49 GMC 100, w/228. I already have a couple Carters, but would like to be as original as possible.
If anyone could help me ID this carb, and whether or not it's correct for the truck, it would be greatly appreciated.
Numbers on round metal tag:
-Outer: 163285
-Inner: 133409 (the last digit here was difficult to make out)
Other markings beside "Zenith - Made In U.S.A." are as follows:
-LR4-16 adjacent to the float bowl
-173 on the bottom flange
Any help or leads are appreciated. I've heard the folks over at Zenith are very helpful, so I may try e-mailing them tomorrow.
