If you have the stock brakes they are the Huck style with two adjusters on the cylinders, they were last used in 1952. They are more difficult to set up. Think about changing to the Bendix type.( 1953 and later)
That info applies to medium duty (3/4 ton) and larger trucks only. 1/2 tons switched to Bendix earlier as Wrenchbender pointed out. cervoned doesn't mention what size his truck is though.
