Installed my flywheel, PP and disc today. This is an 11" PP and disc on my 261. Been about 30 years since I did one on my old VW. Here's what I did:
a. Installed flywheel with lift help from my hydraulic jack. Went on fine. Torqued bolts to 65#.
b. Checked my disc to see the side that was marked "flywheel side". Slipped the PP and disc onto the flywheel face and secured them with one bolt at the bottom. Inserted the alignment shaft and made sure it was straight and into the pilot bushing.
c. Installed all PP bolts with lockwashers and then torqued them to 35#. Removed alignment tool and checked that the disc was centered in the diaphragm opening.

Sound right? Appreciate any feedback. I also assume that the disc is held tight between the face of the flywheel and PP face until the release bearing depresses the diaphragm teeth and "pushes" the disc away. Is this correct?

Tomorrow, the release bearing gets greased and installed. Then the tranny goes on!
