No, Justhorsenround, this is great. Thanks for opening that can of worms! This is all good info, even if I am now lost in a sea of numbers (engine sizes, transmissions, and gearings).
So what is your specific setup that allows you to top 20mpg with a V8? What kind of truck, engine, transmission, and gear ratio? Could it be duplicated on a 60-66 truck?
Whatever you have, it must be good and well thought-out. Is it all aftermarket parts and mods? Like someone else said, it might not be worth paying a grand to upgrade a truck to save $10 a year in gas.
