Started draining all the old fluids from my truck today and when I took the drainplug out of the oilpan I had to poke thru a thin layer of black/silver goo to get it to drain. It wasnt really metalic, more like a grease.Found the same thing in the bottom of my oil filter canister.I dont believe this is from the engine. The truck has been in my family since new and it has set most of its life in a barn.Ive heard stories of old paraffin based oils, not sure if any of its true or not but could this be from that?Do I need to take the pan off and clean it out or is this something normal to find on an old truck?58 GMC 270 ci
Thanks,
Jeremy
