I'm not actually a Chev or GM guy but I'm working on an old truck (a '49 Willys 1-ton) and love the site, I go here a few times a week and read-up on a lot of general info (stuff that doesn't just apply to GM).
Anyways, my question is this:
Can you apply POR-15 on top of an Epoxy primer?? My welding guy is painting my frame with Grey Epoxy primer as used in construction and I'm thinking about using my POR-15 over this...otherwise I'm familiar with the POR application and have the metal ready stuff, just never heard of this before (wondering if it's a waste of precious, precious POR).
I had assumed I would pick up a rusty frame with a welded section but he is kind enough to paint it for me. I had originally intended to wire-brush, pressure-wash and dry the frame completely, use the metal ready and put a couple coats on top. But now I'm wondering if I just need Tremclad or Rustoleum etc.
Anybody done this before? If so, any advice on the prep?
Thanks a lot for helping out this newb!! I'm 16 and this is my first vehicle, learning as I go.
I think my main dilemma is whether to sand or use the MetalReady prep...don't know what will happen either way.

PS: I did my best to search for this situation, but didn't spend much more than half an hour of digging 'cause I really need to know what to do right away (I've gotta get my frame tomorrow, storing it outside, supposed to rain the day after tomorrow, I never leave primer out in the rain. So basically this will all be happening tomorrow afternoon. So please accept my classic, Canadian "SORRY" for the rush)
