The price you got for no name imported tires is the same as I last got for big name imported for straight tread fronts and some pretty aggressive rears.
The 9R22.5 are quite common and have a number of different tread patterns available as well as different (some better)manufacturers.
The tires I'm running now are good used Michelins found on craigslist for very cheap. Take a look on craigslist, you may find a similar deal.
