Hey guys-
I'm an eager to learn newbie who just bought a 59 261 with the intention of rebuilding it. Tore it down when I got it home, and it looks like the rod bearings sat and lightly rusted to the crank at some time in the past, then spun for at least a few times when restarted (not by me!). The crank doesn't look too bad (havn't mic'd it yet, but no grooves). I can't feel the wear on the inner connecting rod surface, but I can see it. I don't see connecting rods for the 261 listed in any of the catalogs I've looked at so far- (Patricks, Langdons, internet search, etc) Do you think these are an "automatic replace" given the spin, or can these be mic'd OK or be reconditioned? Anybody have a suggested source for these?
