Hy gearhead695456, the pump should prime itself, as long as the oil level is correct, you can prime it first if you like by removing the distributor, and driving the oil pump with an electric drill and a special shaft, or you could remove all your spark plugs, and turn the engine over with the starter for a few seconds, if you have a good oil pressure gauge you should see it come up if everything is working as it should, hope that helps.
