When you say put together, are you talking glass, regulators, & door locks?
I usually paint them apart, then put them together. that's how they were done at the factory. If anything was together at all it would be the latch installed before painting. That's the best way to do it. No time wasted masking, no tape lines & no overspray. I hang them up with wire when I paint, or hang them on an upright stand.
Make sure they fit the cab before you paint anything.
