thank you truckernix, that worked like a charm! i had a heat gun so that took care of it. it looks like it's pressed in. i don't remember seing this in any of the other b i have rebuilt, but it's prob been 4 years or so since i have done one. i don't see a picture of the brass tube in the 63 shop manual but i will just leave it in to let it soak. thanks again.
