I plan to remove the transmission from my "54 1/2T in the driveway. I know I have disconnect the torque tube and universal joint from rear of transmission. My question is Do I have to disconnect the torgue tube from the rear end also? I plan to use a transmission jack and am wondering if the torque tube is just disconnected from rear of transmission if their will be enough room to back the transmission out of the bell housing.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
