Mike -- The snow really piled up. We didn't get it as bad as Billy Marlow did on the north side of DC. He's been at work (the country club) since Friday and apparently they got the worst of it. We probably got about 24 inches out there. It's been drifting so it's deeper in some places, not so deep in others. I'm just going by what's on the deck. At the height of the storm yesterday, it was coming down about 4 inches an hour. And at one point yesterday, one of the front tires on the tractor went flat (it's had a slow leak and I had just aired it back up a couple of hours previously) and when I noticed it (at the far end of the driveway -- 1/4 mile from the house), it not only was flat, but off the rim -- So I had to put the bucket down and use it as a sled to get back to the house. I had to run out and get the tire fixed (our tractor/implement dealer was open all day helping folks deal with snow plowing, etc).
Hate to admit it, but I made the run in the F-350 flatbed. I had about 1,000 lbs of pea gravel in the back and driving was still tricky. Kept it in 2WD most of the way to keep it fun, though
I'm not going to take an antique out in conditions like that and the Dodge ... well, hopefully I'll find it again when the snow melts
I grew up in Quebec and have seen heavy snowfalls in my life. This was as much in one snowfall/24-hour period as I've ever seen. It's not hype, it was one heck of a snow no matter where you're from.
