My 1953 Chevy 3800 wasnt gettinging fuel to the carb. After replacing the the Fuel pump fuel lines etc... I wasnt seeing any differace. I removeved the fuel filter (as it is located justet before the carb) and put a clear peace of fuel line in and watched it as I cranked the engine. No fuel. I removed it from the carb and had fuel!. I opened the carb and saw the float stuck in the up posistion so it wasnt letting any more fule in. The float looked like it was crushed. So once I un stuck it it naturally sunk in the bowel. I orderd a new float. My quesion is what would make it crush? Its a new Carb. I bought it just before the resto about 5 years ago and it hasnt been run until the other day.

If it's broke hit it harder!
