Have you checked the sender? Lots of previous threads (as I recall) have a good discussion on the method to test sender, float, ground, and resistance. My wiring also goes to fuse panel. In my case my gauge is currently indicating from full to half. Half is where I run out of gas. Keeps things interesting.
