This 261 engine came to me with a canister oil filter with but not on the motor. It appears to have been on the motor before, but the lines it uses are just common fuel hose, clamped on to brass fittings. I had thought that all the 261 engines were high pressure oiling. Would this mean that it needs to have a high pressure type line, going to the block and filter unit. I've read the threads on moving some pin in on the motor for better oiling proposes, but am not sure how, why or if it needs to be done on this engine. Also since the unit wasnt on the motor, which fitting on the motor would be the inlet one for this filter. Both lines are the same length, so they could have gone either place. It seems intirely possible that something is screwy with this setup, but I have no other similar engine to compare it to.
