Hey Gene, Welcome to the Bolt! Glad to see another Task Force owner join us.
If you do not already have a Shop Manuel or an Assembly Manuel for your truck then I suggest investing in one soon, they are invaluable in fixing and troubleshooting things. As to your throttle cable, there should be a bracket on your carb, screwed to the top of the Air horn. The bracket will have two clamps on it, one for the choke and one for the throttle. the throttle cable in clamped in there and run to the throttle linkage where it threads through a hole and has a little clamp type screw on it that allows the throttle to still slide up for acceleration.
