Just a note for those lucky enough to have a 261 engine to power there ride. It seems that some of the FLAPS out there list the oil pumps for these motor as fitting all yrs. This a incorrect. If you have one made in 54-55 it takes the same pump as a 235 for 53-54. There are at least 6 differnt pumps listed for this motor but only one is the right length. Make sure and compare your old one to the new one so that you get excatly the right one and not just one that fits the engine. It makes a big differance on the depth it goes down into the oil screen. I dont know about the other yrs for the 261 but if you get a slightly wrong pump your going to be very unhappy, very quickly.
