I have been fighting several parts on my 250 to make them fit the way they should. In particular, I have been fussing with a power steering pump\alternator alignment. I have tried the old 250 alternator to block mount and one I had from a 230. Neither works.
I wanted to keep the original motor from the truck as it was my grandpas, and sent it out to have it remanufactured. I was told the block had a minor crack and they replaced it with another.
Now I'm starting to wonder if some of my alignment problems may be related to a GM, but not Chevy product. The casting number on the block is 3894256. I can't find that number anywhere, including Santuccis book.
Can any of you help?
