FWIW, 16" stock '53 wheels don't clear the CPP (S-10, i think)calipers - even with the supplied 3/16" spacers, it's too close and rubs the rim. Everything clears except the area where the four slots are formed and rivetted to the rim.
I am in the same boat and I will need to buy rims next year, which is what I was hoping to avoid with the six-lug brake kit - oh well...
