I use a half mask thats properly fitted for just about any job that kicks up large amounts of dust. I am Heavy Duty mechanic and I can't recall the exact filter number I use but it has a dust filter and charcoal and I will never again use a r95 disposable. If you use a half mask or a full mask then invest in a good cleaning product for your mask as normal breathing in it will allow mildew to grow in it making you sick next time you use it. I store mine in a freezer bag and I change the cartridges as soon as it gets harder to breath in it.
