You've mentioned the expression "money pit" a couple of times. Did you think you were going to buy a $500 vehicle (a 45 year old one at that)
and it was going to be inexpensive?

As for fixing he rust holes? You're not fixing THAT rust by addressing the holes. The entire front brim of the cab needs to be taken apart to properly address thatcancer or it is only going to come back, and fast.

You need to ask yourself if you're truly an old car enthusiast and have the money (and willingness to spend it) to fix it, or do you have the fabrication skills to (and the willingness to spend the time) to fix it yourself? If the answer is an honest yes, then it is STILL a long haul even for those of us that have done this before. Frankly, you don't always feel like working on it; you aren't always as motivated.
