Beaver 53 Shop Shark B Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 483 Azle Texas	If the poping sound is readly herd by quickly opening the throttle while running at idle ,it may be a flat cam (kinda sounds like popping corn) I took valve cover off after performing above threads and found flat cam shaft lobe
