I know this is discussed alot and I promise I have done my homework searches in the archives but have not found the answer. I have a 1950 3100 converted to Bendix front and rear from 51 truck. However the rear axle is from a '60 chev with the '60 backing plates. I believe the only diference is the parking brake cable attachment at the brake housing. The 51-54 use the cable that bolts to the backing plate, later uses the snap in. The question is can I use the '60 cable? Do the '60 have the same threaded clevis to the pivot arm as the earlier trucks? Or vise versa, can I use the 51-54 cable that I know would be the right length, but may not fit right in the rear. I know I could swap the backing plate, but do not want to go through that right now. I have even contemplated grinding out the hump on the backing plate and using the earlier cable, if that makes any sense to anyone. Any thoughts or experiences? Thanks in advance,
