| | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 9,671 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 9,671 | Sounds like who ever rebuilt your starter has one of the field coil leads shorted internally. Best take the starter out and get it up on the bench. Using jumper cables and your new battery see if the starter is operating correctly there before installing it in the truck.
