When I built mine, I asked the machine shop owner, who has been dealing with these engines forever it seems, about converting to studs. he told me it wasn't necessary, and that bolts do the job just fine. Plus, after doing some checking with a few stud sources, including ARP, no one makes the correct size studs for use with the Chevy 6 anyway.
