Well I pulled all lines out & all 4 brakes.
I managed to get the front brakes replaced with new wheel cyl & soft & hard lines. They were in pretty good shape & in fact the brake material was not any thinner than my new shoes. But I figure since the truck sat in the grass for 15 years the glue might give out. Since new shoes are only $25 & I had it apart anyway - you know - cheap insurance.
The rear was another story all together.
I replaced the wheel cyls & hard & soft lines all the way forward. (Still waiting for the new power master cyl).
But I'm having trouble removing the e-brake cables (see other post). Once I get that figured out they will be put back together.
Oh - like I was saying - the rear brakes were PAPER thin! In fact one had worn completely through in the middle, but it had not yet scored the drums. I've never seen them get this close to screwing stuff up & not. I got lucky.
Well - I didn't get it all done this weekend like I wanted, but mostly because the parts were not delivered on Saturday like I was hoping.
I'll give it another whirl next weekend.
