Hy Ferndale53, if you want to convert the engine to 12 volt then you will need a 12 volt compatable flywheel [168 teeth on the starter ring gear], that flywheel will have a six bolt clutch pressure plate attaching pattern, and I believe is available in a 10" or 11" clutch version. So you will have to purchase the appropriate clutch assembly for the flywheel you get, most suppliers make a clutch kit with the pressure plate, disc, throwout bearing and pilot bearing/bushing. You will need a 12 volt starter, they are available in both foot and solenoid activated styles. Also make sure the "new engine" has holes in its front mount plate just like the one on the 216 you removed. I hope that answers most of your questions.
