OK,
I went to the salvage yard today and found a couple of Fords with drivers side diffs. But they are 4.09 gear ratio. How tough would it be to just switch ring and pinion gears? I've never done that so I'm a little leary of it.
Do you have to switch te outers to run 8 lug axle shafts? Or can I simply slide them in?
I was also wondering about getting a '91 chevy front end (IFS) and using airbags instead of the torsion bar suspension. Just a thought. More likely to get the 3.73 gear ratio that would match my rear end too.
