An extra-capacity single carburetor like a Rochester 2GC will involve a lot less fabrication, and probably be less of a headache to tune than any dual-carb setup. The small-bore 2GC like the 265/283 V-8's ran will give you a boost in CFM capacity over the original carb without creating the torque-killing over-carburetion problems that almost always crop up with duals, and adapting a small-volume 4-barrel to the 302 might be a hassle!
