St86, try this link homepage.mac.com/jefe/gear for a page on tranny gear ratios and models. I like both trannies 'cause of floor shift being handy and no linkage to mess with. I use the low for my 54 when hauling gravel uphills and getting started with full load at pit. Good for slow-pulling of other vehicles in yard. Otherwise just a 3spd to drive, less shifting that way! grin The 465 is just a later model, may be beefier. It will not fit the 67 or earlier bellhousings as the bearing retainer (holds throw-out bearing) is bigger on it and won't fit center hole on housing. The bolt patterns are the same tho. You can just use a later housing on your engine to get the right hole size. One thing, they are not a "race" trans and won't shift fast if that's what you wanted. :rolleyes:
