'55 for sure and maybe '56? GMC small trucks were still 6V.
On the bigger trucks, that were 12V systems, the factory used the same 6v gauges by installing the resistors.
I was surprised when I got my '55 GMC home and discovered it had been (poorly) converted to 12V.
