e-coat primer? Does this refer to the black primer that was used by the factory? e-coat has been around six the 1930s but it seems that it might not have been used in automobiles until the 60s. The black primer sure looks like e-coat - it might not stop rust but it sure is hard to remove from non-rusted metal.

Do you think that the bed boards and bed strips were masked-off before the bed sheet metal was painted?
