In the schematic in the truck shop manual (fig. 43), it appears that the fuel gauge head needs to be grounded. It looks as though the ground is at one side of the coil whose other side goes to the sender. I was wondering if anyone knows what the pathway is from this point to the shell of the gauge cluster. It seems like the gauge housing will be grounded by bolting to the dash, and that would complete the ground path, but I'm not seeing what the path is between the gauge head and the shell. And when I'm re-assembling the cluster, I'd like to make sure to clean up any contact points to get a good ground. Any feedback would be appreciated.
