GMCPanel, Gee don't have a cat, WD-40 is indeed a light weight lubricant, it is a petrolium based spray which was intended as a spray lube to displace moisture hence the WD - 40 (Water Displacement formula 40). But as with any oil based lubricant it will attract dust and dirt. I still use it anyway but for areas which are dust and dirt sensitive I use a dry lube.
