I'm dealing with the same thing and I found that it takes very little adjustment on one side to effect the other. I have inserted and removed more shims than I can count. I have bent and pried only to get 1/16th of an inch closer to my goal. It is really amazing how much work goes into aligning this stuff. Sorry I'm not helping you here, just feeling your pain.
