Is your setup still 6V? or have you changed to 12v. I haven't had good experiences with the new 12v guages.
I have a repro 12V guage in my truck, in fact I'm on my second one as the first one didn't read true either. I have a 30 Ohm sender which works correctly, but neither guage ever read to full. I cured this problem by bending the needle on the guage, it now reads full correctly, and also empty correctly. The bend in the needle is right down by the spindle so can't be seen when the face is fitted to the guage cluster.
