For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2006 Posts: 687 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2006 Posts: 687 | Hey guy's and gal's Betty Boop is almost ready for the road but I have a leak. She is dripping about a tablespoon of oil from the rear crankshaft seal each tim I turn her off. As this is not my first rodeo and I have replaced the rear seals (rope type) on engines before I still need assistance. My 1941 Chevrolet Shop Manuel indicates that the "new and inproved wick seal" is only serviceable with the crankshaft out of the block. UHHHHHH! Is this information correct or can I use the chinese handcuff seal installer and only remove the rear bearing cap?
I didn't do it, no one saw me do it, you can't prove anything! "Bart Simpson" | | |
