i will be swapping my stock 3 sp tran, tube, and rear-end under my 54 half ton in the near future and replacing them with the same type of setup but with a rebuilt tran. the different rear has already been upgraded with the higher speed gears. i assume the first step after taking the proper saftey precautions is (1)disconnect the tube from the tran (2) drop the tran and replace with the rebuilt tran (3) drop the rearend and tube and replace with the other tube and rearend as one piece. i am assuming you can do the rearend and tube as one piece? i know what assuming usually does to me so thought i would get some reassurance from all you experts. thanks to all that reply
